This year I had the joy of photographing the promotional shoot for recording artist Gina Robinson’s Annual Christmas Benefit Concert and Toy Drive—and let me tell you, the spirit of the season was alive in every frame. With her radiant energy and heartfelt mission, Gina makes giving look as beautiful as it feels.
“’Tis the season to be giving, fa la la la la, la la la la!” And no one embodies that spirit quite like Gina Robinson. Each year, she hosts her Christmas Benefit Concert and Toy Drive, an evening filled with uplifting Christmas and Gospel music, special guest performances, and of course, the joy of giving. Guests are encouraged to bring a toy and a friend, then settle in for a night of festive melodies and even a few sing-alongs—you just might find yourself holding a microphone and harmonizing with the crowd!
Through partnerships with The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center Front of House Team, Bank of America, and hundreds of generous supporters, Gina has collected thousands of toys over the years. These gifts brighten the holidays for children through organizations such as The Salvation Army, Thompson Child & Family Focus, Least of These Carolinas, and more. This year promises to be no different, with the community once again rallying to make a difference.
Gina’s artistry extends beyond the holiday stage. Her debut CD, produced by GRAMMY, Stellar, and Dove Award winner Cedric Thompson, set the tone for a career filled with powerful performances. She’s appeared on Atlanta Live, Nite Line, and radio stations nationwide. Her tours have paired her with legends like Glenn Jones, Lenny Williams, CeCe Penniston, and Dorothy Norwood, and she has opened for icons such as The Four Tops, Temptations, Gladys Knight & The Pips, and Smokie Norful. Currently, she is touring with the national stage play When a Woman’s Fed Up.
This concert is more than a performance—it’s a gathering of hearts, voices, and generosity. From capturing her promotional portraits to witnessing her mission in action, I can truly say Gina’s dedication to using her gift for good is inspiring.
So mark your calendars, invite a friend, bring a toy, and come experience the magic of Christmas through music and community. With Gina Robinson leading the way, you’re guaranteed an evening that will fill both your spirit and someone else’s Christmas morning with joy.
