BEHIND THE LENS
I’m Stephenie
Photography has always been more than a profession for me — it has been a way of paying attention.
My path to the camera began at Winthrop University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and walked into my first photography class. Something clicked — literally and figuratively — and I never looked back.
Over two decades of professional experience have shaped how I see and how I work. My background spans broadcast television and the performing arts — including photographing live musical and dramatic productions — all of which trained me to find the story in unrepeatable moments. That instinct is what I bring to every wedding, every portrait, every brand session.
I'm drawn to the quiet, honest moments — the ones often overlooked, yet somehow remembered most. Whether I'm documenting an intimate wedding or crafting visual stories for a personal brand, I'm less interested in perfection than in presence. In photographs that hold feeling.
I believe beauty often lives in subtle things: a gesture, a glance, a pause, the way light falls across a room.
That is what I'm always looking for.
For the romantics, the dreamers, and the visionaries — you’re in the right place.
What I Value
CONNECTION The best photographs begin with trust. I've spent over two decades working with people in front of my lens — from nervous couples to first-time brand clients — and the one thing that never changes is this: when people feel seen and at ease, the images show it.
STORYTELLING Beautiful images matter, but photographs that carry feeling, context, and truth? Those are the ones that last.
ARTISTRY I'm drawn to imagery that feels timeless, editorial, and emotionally honest. Not trendy. Just real — refined and worth keeping for a lifetime.
Beyond the Camera
Before I ever picked up a camera professionally, I was on the stage. A background in performing arts gave me an early education in emotion, timing, and the power of a single moment. These days, you'll find me chasing beautiful cinematic films, painting with watercolor, and sharing my space with my fur-babies. I seek out the grace found in ordinary life — which, honestly, is what makes me good at finding it through a lens.
